Day 11- Your favorite fight


Actually this is harder than it looks. I have much love for the Greed vs Ed fight from the first anime and I have much love for the Roy vs Lust fight from Brotherhood.

Greed vs Ed was beautifully orchestraed, had a stunning soundtrack and was emotionally wrenching.

Roy vs Lust had bare-chested Roy being all hot and bad-assed and stuff.

Hmmm, hmmm. Do I go with a well choreographed and dramatic fight sequence or Roy being hot? Hmmm.

Ok I go with Greed vs Ed as my favorite fight!

Do you mean Greed v. Ed where Ed kills him sort of without meaning to and then totally wigs out? Romi Park's voice acting broke my heart in that scene back when I first saw it. I get anime #1 fights all jumbled with their manga/Brotherhood equivalents now, it's been too long O_o.

Roy v. Lust raises the very important question of when and where Roy is secretly working out. Nobody with a desk job gets abs like that without trying. Other things about this fight I enjoy are its total badassery, Lust's unexpectedly sporting attitude to losing, and the fact that Roy gets a cool scar that is both fun to draw and totally matches Ed's (seatbelt called the scars "manly wedding rings" once XD).

Yeah, that is the fight I mean. I loved the music playing in the background a helluva a lot.

Yeah, Roy did have sort of a super saiyan chest there, but I don't mind, he was oh so dreamy as he made Lust flambe *_* Yeah, Lust went out with dignity and even she was impressed by Roy's hotness there at the end. (matching scars are fun!)

I should rewatch that fight. I enjoy Ed using science against Greed in both that fight and the (less tragic) manga version. I also remember Dante's house was hella spooky.

Ah, but where is he secretly working out? And how will this affect his slacker reputation? This doesn't explain the abs, but I've long thought that he secretly goes for early morning runs at HQ, probably wearing something that makes him look a tad silly. I want Ed to track him down and point and snort. (But yes, the main point was that he was super hot and everyone enjoyed that he had to fight semi-shirtless).

Maybe he has one of those Ab Rockers tucked in a closet at HQ or something and sneaks it in when he's off slacking, who knows?

Fight not mentioned, but one I thought was exquisitely potent was from original anime: Ed defeating Sloth/Tricia. The music, Ed's intense calm & resolve , and the way it was illustrated made it a great scene.


However, I will also enthusiastically jump on the "Roy shirtless" bandwagon. I loved that episode so much that I watched it 3-4 in a row before continuing to the next one. I think that this scene was especially great because the English voice actors have IRL chemistry. (Speaking of that chemistry, about a year ago, I remember watching an interview from a con panel with Travis Willingham and Laura Bailey discuss what the atmosphere were like at home the week that scene was recorded. It was too funny )

The Tricia fight was a good fight, but Al got on my nerves XD Can I mention how much I didn't like anime number 1 Al?

That was a good fight, and the cheap shots with the face changes were emotionally hard ... but I dun like how the fight ENDS. D:

*wibbles* Well if it means anything, the Greed vs. Ed fight you were actually talking about also makes me sad because we lose our favorite homunculus. :( I am so fail soemtimes.
