skydark: Made by me, free to use (Wind Blown 2)

We just got back from a 45 minute jaunt to a place called Conyers, Georgia (that I've never been to) to the Fullmetal Alchemist Movie: Conquerer of Shamballa. We saw the 2:00 show (we ate lunch at Chili's beforehand as well)

Many things strike me.

1. I love the dub, I do. I love the american VA's, they are wonderful actors. Aaron got to talk without his tin bowl, Vic was wonderful, OMG who did Alfons? I didn't get a chance to see in the credits, he rocked!
2. The movie makes a HELLUVA LOT MORE SENSE NOW. And I fell in love with Alfons =/ OMG the HYDE. Especially that line..."we're real, we're not just in your dream" *wibbles*
3. OMG it was a state-of-the-art theatre! Dolby Surround Sound, Christie Projectors, Stadium Seating! <3
4. I like the movie a whole lot more now than I did in the sub, because darn it, I like hearing it in english.
5. There were a lot of people in the theatre! That made me VERY HAPPY! =D
6. OMFG I GOT TO SEE IN ON THE BIG SCREEN IN LESS THAN A YEAR FROM IT'S RELEASE IN JAPAN, HOW FUCKING COOL IS THAT?!
7. You should go see it, you really, really should.
8. Saw a trailer for a movie called Happy Feet, I will stand in line for tickets to that.
9. Saw a trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and realized...I still love them. Will so totally see that. XD

Lucky. The closest theatre that the movie is playing from me is 3 hours away. I really wish I could see it on the big screen. But I did get to see it at Wizard World earlier this month, so I shouldn't complain too much!! XDD

;3; They don't play the FMA movie in CT. I'll just buy the DVD and pretend I'm in the movie theatre xD;;

Glad to hear you enjoyed it :D. I really want to hear what Alfons' dub voice sounds like.

Awww, wish you'd gotten to go last night so we could have met. A friend and I were the only cosplayers there - I was Ed, she was Roy. Anybody in costume this afternoon?

And I am so making the fishbowl helmet Ed wears at the start of the movie.

No! I was disappointed! I wanted there to be Eds and Roys! =( I wish I'd gotten to go Friday, too. But Conyers is kinda far away from me!

THE FMA MOVIE IN WISCONSIN! (FAR away!)

Date: 2006-08-27 02:22 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] havocmangawip.livejournal.com
Cost: About 45 bucks.

400 miles of road
9 gallons of gas
A great driving mix
4 Lattes for a total of 13 shots of espresso
1 movie ticket
and 10 people in an AMAZING THX digital theater sitting MIDWAY up in the middle for the 2p.m. Showing of a movie I've been waiting a year to see... in my H.A.C. shirt! (No Mini-skirt this time.)

Value of seeing Jean Havoc on the big screen with big guns, pwn-ing Mustang and OH, those other guys too...

PRICELESS!!!!

I admit to squeeing a few times and saying, "I MET THOSE PEOPLE!!!"

I was at the same show!

I loved it, I really did. I laughed like mad that everyone cheered for Armstrong as soon as he came on screen.

I also got over my dislike of the dub a couple minutes into the movie and didn't mind them all the way through. I prefer the Japanese, but it was still good.

I left VERY, very happy.

The movie was actually showing in my town (Tyler, TX) so I went to see it twice (once for the movie, and the second time just because I could!! XD) I LOVED it. It was so worth the cost of the tickets. The first time, thought, they put on Monster House instead of CoS... it was ugly... very ugly... I was sure there would be blood spilled! But, OMFG - Alfons was wonderful. And, when Armstrong redesigned Liore (in his image..) XD I thought I would die laughing!!

It's not coming to Wichita so I can't see it until it comes out on DVD. It should damn it, at our anime con this last weekend there were over 2000 people and I'm betting at least half of those liked FMA! I am so pissed about that and people keep telling me stuff about, you know people who download it from the net... *twitches*

;_; I want to watch the The Conqueror of Shamballa on the big screen too *pouts*

Hell, I would settle for watching the tv-series on tv and not on the computer. Living in Spain sometimes sucks *goes off to throw a fit*

*comes back* But I'm happy that at least some people have the chance to enjoy it ^_^

I don't have any theaters with it nearby, but I'm so lucky because I saw it at Otakon twice! I can't help bragging to everyone. T_T
I wasn't expecting to like Alfons, but I did! I saw a little bit of him in my sub, but I stopped watching that partway through, because I realized I'd rather see it in English first.

(Um, yeah, you don't know me, but I read BTLA... >_>)

I'm mad I can't see it even though I'm in the US D: I know it's shown in Boston but I can't really go there by myself, and it seems to be shown only this weekend ;_; I so wanted to see it in a theater, I don't care about the language T_T (even though I love Paku Romi too much to appreciate a dubbed version XP)

I'm really glad you fell in love with Alfons, he deserves more love &hearts

i have to agree that whoever did the voice of Heid was amazing, and i actually CARED about him by the end of the movie. For some reason the way he sounded in the Japanese version just made me angry at him hahaha.

and some of the dialogue was AMAZING. The "brother brother!" scene between al and ed was so much more gut wrenching it seemed!

<3 the movie *swoon*

I'd have to go two states over to get to a theater playing the FMA movie, so I'm going to have to wait for the DVD release.

Also, they've been advertising Happy Feet for at least a year, it looks so cool! Awesome cast too, I'm going to push for opening day on that one.

I got to see the movie too, lucky for me it was only an hour away.
But they didn't show previews...so instead me and I think nine other people that dressed up did little skits and stuff. It was really fun, but the movie...it was just...so good it leaves you speechless!
Though me and my friend wern't speechless for long because we talked about it all night long.
I was Movie!Alphonse...but I forgot my gloves and my kitty at home because I was rushed to get over to my friends house so we could get to the theature an hour early to wait in the line. We got movie posters while waiting in line which is now hanging up in my room in all it's coolness. :D

Unfortunately the only place in California playing the movie was in LA. A 4-6 hour drive ( depends on traffic and who's driving ). I'd wish I could tell Funi that LA isn't the only place in California. What about San Francisco? ARGH!!!!
