Hot Topic must be getting out of the anime biz,everything was on sale 50% off and there was no FMA stuff (other than those ridiculous tennis shoes) to be found. The only reason I went in there was for t-shirts, oh well. donna_c_punk I did get a groovy shonen bat shirt for 8 bucks! And SUNCOAST, WTF?! Not only did the NOT have DVD 7, they didn't have Manga Volume 5! I was so 0_0 and my guy who works there (who loves me) groveled pitiously. It seems they sold off Media Play and that other store and had to renegotiate their contract and hadn't gotten anything new in yet! WOW, buttrflysteph I drove all the way out to the Mall of Georgia for nothing! NOTHING! Everyone in my house has off today but me, but that's ok, I had LOTS of days off this year. XD

I don't know about Hit Topic cause the ones near me are all full of anime (okay just looked on their website and yup everything is on sale there) and I knew about Media Play cause I have 2 friends out of a job now, but usually that doesn't effect other branches so that really is a corporate issue.


I reccomend going to Wal-mart or Target. I have bought all my FMA DVDs at Wal-mart (scary..huh?). As for manga well I can't help you there. The closest mall/ book store/ civilization is about a hours drive from my house.

I have to agree, I ordered the artbook, manga, and dvds from Wal-Mart.com once...surprising a lot cheaper than the other stores that carry them. I haven't seen it in the store however, but that's probably just because my stores suck. All four/five? of them. (Seriously...why the hell do we need four??? They are fixing to build the fifth one. I live in a sort of big town..but it's not that big.)

I find it funny also about there being more crack than regular fiction..and actually I'm shocked I made your rec list. Of course, I can't help it if I can't write anything but crack..it's not like I haven't tried.

Omfg, I thought I was the only one who had the problem of not friggen finding Volume 7 anywhere. Other than Target (which doesn't carry ANY anime DVDs), Suncoast and Sam Goody are the only two DVD stores even remotely near me. And they both get the same shipments. And wtf! They got Gankutsuou volume 2 in on the 10th, when it was supposed to be released, but they STILL haven't gotten in FMA volume 7, which was supposed to be released on that same day.

And Hot Topic friggen sucks now. They used to have such a great anime section, now they don't have ANYTHING left. -.- My respect for them has once again plumetted.

Suncoast's parent company filed for bankruptcy last week, which is why they didn't have the new releases of almost everything. The guys at the local store said that they should start getting the stuff next week.

Suncoast just sucks now. I went there last friday, all they had were single dvds and starter sets. No boxsets what so ever. :(

my local comic shop didn't have fma vol 5 either. altho sometimes they get them a week after they say they will, so i didn't pitch a fit. also i saw a guy reading fma on the subway on saturday, and refrained mightily from leaning over his shoulder and going "is that vol 5? is it? is it? what's happening??" because that would be weird.

Last week, on "new anime Tuesday" I heard about that BOMB dropping the NO MANGA, NO NEW FMA FOR ME, even though I'd PRE-ORDERED! F'ers...I went to Best Buy after work, got FMA CHEAPER... and got Princess Tutu Traum...which was good, as I am cosplaying Princess Tutu at ACen. ;) (My releve to pointe is coming along swimmingly, as is my pirouette.)(If I'm gonna cosplay a ballerina, my barre and centre work WILL be spot on again!)

Long story short, there was WOE at Suncoast that Tuesday!!! AND the next Cowboy BeBop is on hold INDEFINITELY! ACK ACK!!! GRRRRR.

HT's always having sales like that, to get rid of overstock. When I bought my FMA shirts a while back? They were on sale. They're getting approved to sell more titles. One that I haven't seen much from yet is Gankutsuou. Though, that's not really an anime I particularly want merchandise for, only if it's DVDs.

Of course, their new cash cow is Naruto. The series is new, mostly, to audiences here, and everyone who isn't caught up with the manga will be buying shit. (Because most of the people current with the manga are disenchanted/disillusioned. I'm not, however. I will wait it out.) They'll never get out of the anime biz. Dammit.
