EarthQuake

Ok, something weird happened. And what was weirder? I was awake for it. About 3:30 am we got a phone call. I don't know from who or why, but I got up to find the cordless phone which was not in the bedroom on it's cradle where it should have been.

Anyways so I'm awake and I'm having trouble sleeping, so I get back up and come into the room where our computers are and get on the 'net and screw around for about an hours..it's around 4:30am and I decide to go back to bed.

So I'm lying awake in the bed staring at the ceiling. And the room shakes. Everything rattle. I look around. It does it again. I'm in Georgia, we don't have earthquakes.

So I figured A: Passing Truck, B: Passing Speeding Car, C: I'm dreaming on the verge of sleep. And since I did drop to sleep soon after I let it go at that.

My alarm clock goes off, it plays a local radio station. The announcer, a morning funny man is saying....'the news stations are all scrambling for a name to call it...EarthJam or ShakerWaker...'

It hits me. We had an earthquake and I was probably one of the few georgians up to experience it.

look, we did NOT move back to the E.C. just to have to put up with this crap. 'cause if we're gonna have to deal with the ground just getting up and leaving anyway, well, shit, i'd rather have the nice weather, too. =p

yup, we had ourselves a big ol' 4.9 on the richter scale, came from the Ga/Ala. line, near Cloud Canyon. No damage to anything I heard of.
