I went to Cingular Wireless today to renew my contract and upgrade my phones, while I was waiting I idled by a huge color television set tuned into CNN. While fidgiting there CNN had it's 'News around the country' sort of segment, and there they were, for all the nation to see...
So there on the CNN, what are they having a segment on? The Flaggits. What are Flaggits you ask? That's what we call these bozos who get up in there cofederate uniforms and do the flag dance outside of the capital. The same handful of fat red necked idiots who are all over the news telling us about how their heritage is being lost. Everytime they parade out they are the darlings of the local media, and then of course, inevitably, it ends up on the national news. It's 'colorful'.
*shudders* The nation must think we are all obssessed over losing the civil war. The nation must think we are all wrapped up in this controversy to have our state flag changed. The state flag as it is now was adopted in the late 50's, as a sign of defiance, mostly about desegregation. True, the St. Andrew's cross probably stands for a more noble cause (that's what the bars on the current state flag are called), but this flag itself has become the symbol of hatred, ignorance, bigotry and racism. I'm not sure if that was the original purpose or not, but now that it has, time to move away from it. Don't these idiots realize what they are doing to the state they claim to love?
I don't recall seeing these same handful of idiot fat rednecks out DEFENDING the flag when the Klu Klux Clan displayed it while throwing rocks at marching protestors, or when the neo-nazi's hung it in their meeting rooms. I don't recall them raising a stink about that. Well guess what, their heritage is my heritage too. I had relatives who fought in the civil war. I say change the stinking flag! Let's show the nation we aren't all rednecked, inbred, gun tottin', beer swilling good ol' boys.

And guess what? I got a kick ass new cell phone! Whoo Hoo! It's got a voice feature, I program in a number, record a name with it and then you can just say the name and the phone dials for you, it rocks!
