I have a terrible habit of laying on the southern THICK when I meet strangers. It's disarming in that aww-isn't-she-just-a-harmless-sweet-southern-girl way that makes life easier. ESPECIALLY when dealing with belligerent customers who are wrong.

Most of the time I have a neutral accent.

But I'll pick up any accent in short order. It's evidently a gift of mine. You should hear the clusterfuck my accent becomes when I've been around several different languages or dialects. The sad thing is, I don't even realize I do it. At AWA, my tone gets significantly more bouncy and I use Japanese phrases without thinking about it. I'll just substitute them in like their english.

And since I'm a language freak, I regularly have that happen with several languages. -.-' So, a sentence can start out in english, transition through russian and spanish, and end with a japanese 'ne?'.

It all makes sense in my head, but I feel bad for my friends.
