Real Life

Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] sockren!

Friday! *deep breath* AH! Smell the excitment, it's a good smell, not to tangy or musty, it just tickled your nose hair teasingly like that girl you use to know in 5 grade who sat across from your best friend? And everytime you tried to get your best friends attention she though you were motioning at her and she'd wave a little and squirm around in her desk. And that would attract Ms. Blankeships attention and she'd look between the two of you and you knew the thrill of danger and the disgust of 'ew cooties'. Friday is kind of like that but not, it's more like later when you started having wet dreams about that girl. Yeah, Friday is a wet dream because Saturday is like first base, and you never got that far with that girl.

I don't think I have to leave the house today until [livejournal.com profile] hakuyama gets home! GLEE! [livejournal.com profile] buttrflysteph, don't drive like a maniac and bring soda.

*cracks knuckles* I now don't know what to do with myself. OH! I got an external hardrive yesterday, I named it 'Ed', (what? don't look at me like that) and spent a incredible amount of time putting things of in and deleting them off my computer. Ed (stop looking at me like that) now holds all my graphics and iTunes back ups and Programs backup and my computer has heaved a mighty sigh of relief. Technology is bitchin'.

Things I'll be doing this weekend: Sam's, Home Depot, BrandSmart, Kroger, Farmers Market.... *taps chin* I think that covers everything, as a matter of fact, yeah it does.

I hope you all have a great weekend, don't do anything I wouldn't do (at least once) and keep your heads and arms inside the window while doing it. 'kay? You know I worry, don't make me come back there, you'll regret it. Trust me.

Ok, The Good Stuff...

Fic Recs

[livejournal.com profile] celes_grant is doing a theme for Alfons Heiderich, which I think is novel and gosh is he cute, see the first one: HERE and cheer her on!

[livejournal.com profile] zalia's Jigsaw. Roy/Ed. Minor End of Series Spoilers. How does he fit in his life now when so much has changed?

[livejournal.com profile] hallidae's To Honor Thy Family: Onwards, Part 1. PG-13, appears Gen. Too young to enlist but old enough to be drafted, his family nonwithstanding he goes to answer the call.
[livejournal.com profile] hallidae's To Honor Thy Family: Onwards, Part 2. He hated mail-call.
[livejournal.com profile] hallidae's To Honor Thy Family: Onwards, Part 3. "I refuse to allow people under my command to believe they have nothing left to live for."

[livejournal.com profile] tir_synni's Fortitude. Roy/Ed. Manga Spoilers. “It was stupid, but when I originally started this damned quest, I had always imagined going back home with Al, helping him recover, living out the rest of our lives there. For years, I had thought that was our plan. But it’s not anymore.”

[livejournal.com profile] devils_devotion's Aegri Somina. Roy/Al. Yaoi. When he took Alphonse in he never meant him as a replacement for his missing brother.
[livejournal.com profile] devils_devotion's Aegri Somina Continuation. They are both too old for a child's body.

*kisses friday like i mean it* first friday in probably a month when i can sit down and watch all my cheesy scifi at once. ^_^ that's four hours of cheesy scifi if you include firefly. also, i have to buy snacks. and since you're not leaving the house (you SLACKER) i can't ask you to pick me up some green grapes or gingersnaps or something....

would you say an external hard drive is better for backing up than, say, a pile of rewritable cd's? 'cause i've never backed up my laptop and i'm just waiting for something horrible to happen. (that is not a hint, ok? don't you be getting any ideas.)

Ummm grapes. DAMMIT, I'm not leaving this house! *points*

OMG, the external harddrive if your best friend and SO MUCH better than a gagillion CD's hanging around. I put my ENTIRE COMPUTER onto it, I in essence have another computer now, at my beck and call through a mere USB cable and not digging for the right CD, plus I just drag and drop back and forth without having to use a program to burn anything, or once again, find the right CD. And if anything were to happen to my BELOVED COMPUTER WHO IS THE CENTER OF MY UNIVERSE AFTER JERI/MY KID, then I have everything on the external and with a couple of hours to burn and once again a mere USB cable, I can copy it all right back onto my new computer. It really makes a hell of a lot of sense. I got a big one, 250 GB, for about 230.00 at Compusa, but they have smaller sizes, you can get a 160 GB for 99.00. I strongly recommend it my love. *mwah*
