Lightening fried my modem Saturday night. I'm moving next month and though briefly of just saying... 'oh well' and getting a new one in the new place, but OMG the withdrawals. Hence I made my current DSL provider (who shall not be my provider when I move) give me a new one to use for a month XD

Ouch..I've been through the fried modem before, but that was in the computer itself. Thank god for warranties. XD Especially when the idiots swore up and down it was the hard drive and replaced that first.

Well..and with Dell I've been through three harddrives...

Only once was the harddrive the problem. =/

Of course, you have to try to explain the situation over the phone to someone, and even when you state exactly what you know is wrong..they make you walk through a process and it's always the harddrive that is the problem.

I lost my faith in Dell when Andrew (who used to work for them) said that all they did was hire people off the street and when you called in a problem, they went online and read from there. Which...IS NOT A GOOD IDEA. It got to a point where I knew the guy that came to install the harddrives by name, and knew all about his family.

That really sucks about the modem, mine's always turning itself off. Hopefully everything will be fine now.

I went into New York last weekend and I was walking around and I looked at a sign and omg!! I started laughing hysterically, Colonel Spanky's BBQ. I was like, "Spanky's..." My Dad was confused 8D;;; I wanted to take a picture of it, but I had no camera on me D:

Internet withdrawal is the worst withdrawal in the known universe. Of course, it's the only withdrawal I've ever suffered from, since I chose not to have any other vices. But that doesn't matter! It's still horrible!

eeek. i had this conversation with rich-the-coworker on friday about how lightning can electrocute you through your phone in a storm, which i think is an urban legend, but i never heard of lightning frying someone's modem. you poor thing. :(

We have been having lightening here too. For the last 3 days.

And wow the big move is coming up so soon! I am going to have to find a way to come out and see the new place eventually. At least send me pictures?

I am moving 3 hours north of San Diego to a place called Ventura. Its about an hour north of LA, if that helps at all. I am going to school at Brooks Institute of Photography, and I get to share an apartment with 2 other girls. Its right next to the beach too! I will post pics for you too. =]
